SEC delivered to USDA the COIS server to USDA and ran the first
synchronizations with all field offices for a very happy client.
COIS is the Central Office Management System which SEC was contracted
to provide under a contract received on Jul-27-2001 (see the
News entry for Jul-27-2001). COIS satisfied all of the initial
requirements specifications (and several which were added during
the design phase) on time and within budget. All policy changes
are managed through the COIS Management Console. All Inspection
and Policy data is automatically transmitted nightly from and
to all service centers. This involves 28 tables. Synchronization
times range from 2 to 6 minutes over 128 kbps ISDN lines. The
system is fully secure and fault tolerant. Failed transmissions
can be restarted without resulting in error conditions to either
participating database. |
