Caterworks.net is the web extension to Caterworks.  It provides marketing support to all Caterworks users by publishing their services on the web and taking orders and requests for quotes/information.  We at Solutions Engineering see the role of the web very differently than many.  We see the web as an extension of a company’s core.  We see this as a low risk, high return approach to leveraging core company capabilities on the web.  The more we can automate the web component, the lower the risk (i.e., investment/commitment) and the high the return.  All dependencies on human effort should rely on the activities of the site visitors acting in accord with their best interests. We accomplished this by publishing the database of the Caterer (i.e., CaterWorks) on the web.  Any changes made to the Caters in-office database are published to the web database.  Orders and Request for Quotes (as well as new customer profile information!) are created by web visitors and flow automatically from caterworks.net to the CaterWorks database in the Caterer office.  No additional work is required to generate business ­ only to fulfill the business.  With little or no human dependencies, the entire site is maintained at a very small cost.  The primary capabilities of caterworks.net include :
